Have been in the crypto space since 2012, been through several crazy bubbles, had a go at mining, trading and HODLing and I am still in the space and excited for the technology!
The learning curve for Crypto is very steep, it isn't a forgiving technology if you make a mistake and there are almost a limitless supply of people trying to scam you in various ways. My hope is that I can help guide you through the maze that is Crypto, help you know how to stay safe, where to avoid and help you learn the lay of the land.
I create videos that cover the kinds of things that people ask me in person every time Bitcoin price action starts to get media attention. I focus on tools to help you recover from mistakes, common scams to avoid and useful software and practices that can be hard to find if you don't know where to look.

Hi Steve, have you encountered any problem sending ZEC coins to Binance exchange? The problem is that Binance has introduced new addresses for ZEC that start with TEX and the Trezor wallet does not accept them. It would be nice if you made a video on how to solve this problem.
Hi, when I enter the custom token address the error "This is not a valid contract address" appears. I copied the information that appears under "TOKEN CONTRACT (WITH 18 DECIMALS)". Thank you. EDIT: This was solved by changing the network to the BNB Smart Chain (in case anyone needs it). Thank you so much for helping me recover my funds. This has taught me a very valuable lesson.

Would it be possible to flash PI-TREZOR with this set up? (Hope it’s not a stupid question 😅)
My fork of piTrezor with support for the waveshare display hat works fine. (Though the NFC reader won't do anything when running piTrezor)
@@CryptoGuide it was weird when I down loaded everything- Nothing was working giving me all sorts of reasons: power cut off, reader, different device, and then when it stated that it was already loaded but could not do anything error after error, etc. Then I realized (don’t know how) I have to uninstall an uninstalled applet???, and then I figured out if I installed the Satochip or Satodime applet 1st then the SEEDKEEPER will install successfully 😀. Might be faulty reasoning but that is what I had to do and then I could uninstall the Satodime/Satochip and all was perfect. Then this became 🤩. I ordered the Amazon DIY CARDS you left a review on. Satodime worked on my daughters iPhone 11 but for whatever reason it does not register on my iPhone 7… When it was loaded on her phone it stated not authentic ( I guess because it’s not from Satochip proper 🤷 but It still worked as it should - I don’t think I would ever use it but I wanted to see… AnywAy, thank you for the video - time flies I started and midnight and now 5:00am FTW 🙌🏻
The other coolest feeling after going through all this was when I went to sparrow and it so simply loaded and I couldn’t believe it. My daughter and I was like 👍🏻. - what a beautiful project we shared😊
Haha nice, yea NFC stuff is still a bit inconsistent with some older phones but it generally works well. (And some DIY cards can be a bit temperamental when first installing applets) Good job sorting it out.

SIR I HAVE LOST more than 10000 value ETHERUM META WHILE TRYING TO TRANSFER TO BINANCE Ethereum wallet address. Please helpme to recover tonrecover
So where exactly did you get the address from that you sent the funds to? (Which wallet app, exchange or website)
I don’t recall what platform I opened my wallet with and don’t have my seed all I have is my wallet address what would you suggest I do as I see that only knowing 2-3 seed words won’t recover so what do I do for no words and nothing but wallet address…. So lost as to what to do! 😢
If all you have is a wallet address than you have nothing. Your only hope is to find the mnemonic or a working copy of the wallet you originally used.
Im trying to recover a Cardano wallet, using python 3.10.2 on windows 10. After running btcrecover, I select the cardano option on th pop up; but the CMD returns a "not enough values to unpack (expected 2, got 1" By the way I have the 24 seed phrase but one is either wrong or in the wrong place. Please help
So what happens if you just start by copying/pasting the usage examples for basic Cardano seed recoveries? (From btcrecover.readthedocs.io)
Really interesting! Can I built this project also or other cryptos? Thanks
Seedsigner only supports Bitcoin
I got a question, that is complex,If scrambled 12 Word Seeds ,meanwhile lost a word and do not know the wallet address, how to use the tool, looking forward to your response,THX😀
Missing a word greatly increases the complexity to the point that it will take months, so depending on the wallet value, is may not be worth it. Missing an address is no problem if it's for a coin/chain where you can use an address database.
@@CryptoGuide yep,Yes, I am currently using the latest database file you shared, but due to a missing word and out of order, I don't know how to add those parameters. I have tested several times and have failed
@@CryptoGuide I wrote a script myself to generate 2048 mnemonic words (fill in the forgotten word) in a txt document, and then processed it in batches. However, the order seems to be out of order, and I am quite frustrated with how to attach parameters to achieve the desired effect

No, if all you have is the wallet address then you have nothing. I'm sorry for your loss.
Hey bro i really hope you are reading this because i need help. i recently deposited crypto to an address but the address only supports polygon network. I mistaken sent crypto to that address through a network called BASE because that is coinbase's default network for transferring usdc. i realised i messed up and now my funds are stuck. is there any advice you could help me with?
This depends entirely on what you mean by Coinbase. If you sent funds to the Coinbase wallet app where you have the private keys, it's a straightforward recovery. If you sent funds to the Coinbase exchange, then unfortunately since you sent the funds to a custodial wallet or exchange your only option is to contact their support and hope that they help you.

When I download your databases from the site, I can’t open them in Windows, how can I solve this problem??
Does this have anything to do with Trezor or is this a BTCRecover related question?
Hi, I have safepal wallet but lost phrases. Is it possible to retrieve phrases based on address?
No, if all you have is an address then unfortunately you have nothing.
i have a question about restoring your passphrase in different wallets ?
And what is the question
@@CryptoGuide Hi, I'm trying to restore my Trezor safe 3 on my ledger s with the same seed is like cloning my Trezor but for some reason EI not working , both devices should be bip39 . Do you think ledger s the firmware doesn't work and only should work on ledger s+ , thank you.
When you say it's not working, what does this mean? Does it accept the seed and you are just having trouble seeing some of the funds? (If so, which coin/chain)
@@CryptoGuide the seed is accepted like should be is just l don't see any transactions or my funds and when I'm using my Trezor everything is fine the problem is just on my ledger , but I should be able to see in both devices because they're bip 39 so I'm concerned and confused 🤔 thank you for answering my questions so quickly.
So basically the seed is probably fine and the issue is that for some coins, Ledger and Trezor use different derivation paths. What are the coins/chains that you are trying to use on both devices?
I have my wallet address only in my massage section but I lost have all wallet details. Can I retrieve my wallet ?
If you only have an address, but no seed words, private keys, etc, the you have nothing and have unfortunately caused an unrecoverable loss.
I have an old paper wallet and I have the encrypted private key but i lost the password for the private key. How can i recover the bitcoin from it?
You will need to either know the password or have a guess that is very close to correct
Please suppress this BS video that misleads beginners. Today it's well known that a 24 words seedphrase doesn't give you more entropy than a 12 words one. In both cases, the entropy of your private key is 128 bits. This 24 words feature is completely useless and should be suppressed from Bitcoin.
This video actually misses the most important point which is that the checksum for 24 words is much better. I'll probably redo it to include both this as well as SLIP39 type seeds as well.
@@CryptoGuide 128 bits is the MAXIMUM entropy of every single Bitcoin private key! Educate yourself... "ECDSA and Schnorr are themselves 128-bits secure." Adam Back, March 13th 2023 Period.
That's correct and it would be nice if it were that simple when it comes to seed length, but engineering doesn't work that way. For example, do you know what a checksum is and how strong it is for different seed lengths? (Or different schemes if you include SLIP39) Are you confident that data you selected on the input is actually 128bits of entropy? (If you used a TRNG it's probably fine, but if you used dice then maybe not)
@@CryptoGuide The checksum's length in a seed phrase has nothing to do with securing private keys. It's purely for integrity verification. The actual security lies in the seed's entropy, which is robust against brute force attacks. Claiming otherwise shows a lack of understanding of how cryptographic security works. Saying TRNGs are more reliable than dice rolls is flawed. Physical randomness from dice, when done right, can be more trustworthy than a potentially faulty TRNG.
Integrity of you backups is part of security of your overall setup, so I'm glad that you at least understand that such a thing exists. The issue with BIP39 is that the checksum strength is tied to the seed length, so 12 word seeds are extremely error prone. (Though this problem is resolved in SLIP39, so the 128 bit share groups are fine) Dice are better in an ideal world, but both compensation for the base conversation with dice and accounting for dice bias is basically an unknown, but if you do enough rolls for 24 words you have more than accounted for both and can be confident that you still have more than 128 bits of real entropy. There is no disagreement that 128 bit keys are cryptographically secure, but rather a question of what is best once all the factors for creation and use of a backup set are considered.
Dang, I bought the bitcoin only safe 5 and a 20 word Trezor backup. Would you move your entire funds onto this? I did this because all my funds are on a ledger and I was afraid of the ledger recover being a point of entry to extract my seed. Maybe I should just keep my ledger on bip39. Any thoughts?
You can still use BIP39 with the Safe 5, so unless you plan to go to multi-share backups later, you can just leave it as-is.
Please help me, I wrote down the phrase badly, but at the same time there are the first letters and their order, also in some words there are the first and second letters, tell me, is there an opportunity to restore access to the wallet?
It's probably fixable. Just follow my videos on BTCRecover

So are you saying that you have all 12 of the words in the recovery seed, but the order is just scrambled?
@@CryptoGuide It might have been confusing what I said earlier, so I'll explain again. On my Android phone, I have Metamask, which is on the password entry screen. I remember the characters of the password, but I don’t know the order they should be in, so I wanted to use btcrecover. I wanted to know if there's any possibility of using it on Android, for example via Termux. I have some basic knowledge of Python
You still didn't clarify what exactly you are using in terms of wallet software, but it probably isn't recoverable without at least rooting the phone. (And doing so without triggering a wipe)
hi sir plsss help me to recover my ronin wallet acc bcos i forgot the recovery password of my ronin wallet
If you have zero words from your recovery phrase and don't have a working copy of your wallet, then unfortunately you have caused an unrecoverable loss.
@@CryptoGuide i created my ronin wallet with google account and now i only do is view-only in my ronin allet bcos i forgot the recovery password
Sounds like you have caused in unrecoverable loss. I'm sorry for your loss.
i have 51 word. i think thats all but theres typo at some word. what methode i need to recovery it ?
Do you mean that your private key is 51 characters long?
@@CryptoGuide yes sir
Then just follow the video
why the first sentence is different ? yours is "users/crypto/documents/github/btcrecover> and mine is document/my name> ?? why its different ? any step for make it sentence same as u sir ?
Because you are running BTCRecover from a folder on your PC, not mine. (So it's normal)
@@CryptoGuide is it still ok ? so from any word i would start ? are from my name> pyhton .. (following as u) ?
Just follow the video
@@CryptoGuide sir, i have an interesting offer for you. in this wallet there are 3 btc, i will give you a private key that i try to fix. then you try to fix it, if it works i will give you 1 btc and the rest is for me. you don't have to worry about me not paying it, because all the control is on you

What if I don't want to sweep all of the BTC off the paper wallet? So if I have 1 BTC on a paper wallet and I want to send .5BTC to my Coinbase account can I do the transaction offline and send it without ever exposing my private key?
Basically you will need to import the private key like I demo here and make the transaction to Coinbase. When you make the transaction, you should see one output sending funds to Coinbase and a change output sending the remaining funds back to the paper wallet address. You need to be sure to check the change and there have been plenty of folk who will sweep a paper wallet, rather than importing it as a loose private key. (Which makes to easy to accidentally lose whatever change is left over)
Hello, really desperate one here. I installed python, btc recover from your link. But seedphrase.py said seed nod found sorry even on one of your examples from another video. I have 10 words and know address zpub. Could you help me?
Could you help me recover wallet? I don’t have money to pay you before recover. But you can recover have 50% of wallet ~ 150$
Sounds like you will just need to use the free support option here in the RUclips comments and run it yourself. What software/hardware did you use to generate the seed in the first place?
@@CryptoGuide I don’t remember which one I used as I found this seed in my old word file
@@CryptoGuide but its btc wallet as there are sats
Basically if it was Electrum, you will need to specify that wallet type, as opposed to BIP39.
Oh you haven't reviewed latest onekey pro which the factory claims it has 4 security chips
No I haven't. That said, it's four of the same chip, so that isn't the same as something like a Coldcard which uses multiple secure elements from different vendors.
Is there a way to recover an eth private key as well? My blockchain wallet was changed, two wallet addresses were linked to same private key, at the end I lost the one with funds in it and can’t seem to get any access to it, is there a way to get it back? I have funds in it. I still have the wallet address, I don’t mind paying you if you are able to help me retrieve my funds. Thanks.
Yes it does. You can request private support or a trusted recovery here cryptoguide.tips/recovery-services-consultations/
Hey can anyone give me some info the version i received on my new Ellipal titan appears to be newer than the one offered on the official page?? Seems strange. ie New Version Update V3.12.1 , but i received mine with V3.12.2
It is odd but I don't see it as super unusual that a minor point release might be different between what is shipping compared to what is on their website. (Ellipal is all closed source, so they don't release proper changelogs or have a Github repo that you can compare against) I would just email their support and see what they say. (As they just may not have released the latest on their website yet)

I tried it but my is not working
What does this mean? Where did you get stuck?
@@CryptoGuide it the last part my private keys is a base 51

Hi I have a wallet3 I have a 12 phrase word, but they're mixed up and. I cannot get to my wallet and the phrase words are mixed, how can I put them right? As my wife lost the paper but had the correct order. But I do have the phrases but mixed.
That's exactly what this video covers, have you tried the process here?
@@CryptoGuide no not yet its for my wife's account she said she took a screen shoot of it but it was scrambled . so what order never know. As i have spoken to wallet3 as their app would not let is in but they have up dated it know so now we can open it. But now she said am not sure if that the correct one now. If that's the case $71.000 down the drain.
Sounds like a straightforward recovery. If you need private support or want it done in a hurry as a trusted recovery, you can find info and a request form here cryptoguide.tips/recovery-services-consultations/
@@CryptoGuide you are such a good help. Is that I'm not very technical minded? When you start talking. I'm in another world. Hahaha
There is no rush, so take your time. If you can't work it out, you can just request either a trusted recovery or private session cryptoguide.tips/recovery-services-consultations/
How do I edit bip39 list to take out some words?
You would need to do a tokenlist based recovery and use a custom wildcard list file.
@@CryptoGuide there’s no way to just delete some words out of one of the lists and do a basic recover with a few big typos?
Nope (Unless you are prepared to just edit the source code, in which case it's straightforward)
@@CryptoGuide which part of the source code? I couldn’t figure it out
@@CryptoGuide which part of the source code would I have to edit?

Does ti have the "hidden wallet" feature? how is it? can I show at the airport that it works as a normal calculator?
Hidden wallet is BIP39 passphrase, so yes. The Q has calculator mode, but not the mk4, but it's really just a dumb meme... The have a very distinctive look and border folk are looking for crypto stuff, will spot it instantly...
Good morning Is it possible to work Pitrezor with the screen with driver ST7735S
The releases on my Github target the hardware used in the SeedSigner, so thats the ST7789, so in terms of official releases, they won't work with the ST7735S. That said, my fork of piTrezor makes use of the fbcp-ili9341 driver which can be found here: github.com/juj/fbcp-ili9341 which does support the display you are asking about. Basically you would just need to build piTrezor from source from my repository and edit this file: github.com/3rdIteration/yocto-pitrezor/blob/master/meta-pitrezor/recipes-graphics/fbcp-ili9341/fbcp-ili9341_git.bb so that it uses the ST7735S driver as opposed to the ST7789 driver for the display. (it's a one line change)
@@CryptoGuide I don't have the programming knowledge to be able to try to make this change.
Then your best bet is to just get the standard waveshare hat that the Seedsigner uses
@@CryptoGuide Can you indicate where this modification is?
I already give you exactly what to edit and what to change it to
Why it is so difficult for companies to make a cheap and fully air-gapped device?
It comes down to also the camera module, the ability to do the image processing that this requires and also needing more RAM to be able to do things like store and process the full transaction on-device, as opposed to having the connected PC handle some parts of this. (And maybe throwing a larger screen on there to make the camera usable too) In the simplest of terms, you can see this with a Jade, you can DIY one without the camera for $10 USD, but if you want to add a camera, the price basically doubles. (You can also take this further and have an even simpler smartcard based device like Satochip, no screen or buttons, that you can do for under $5 USD)
@@CryptoGuide Nice answer. Thanks.
Glad it helped
